EcoSmart ECO 36
We’ll start with the EcoSmart ECO 36 36kw 240 volt Electric Tankless Water Heater. For those looking for a great amount of long lasting hot the water, this is the product for you. It’s one of the largest electric water heaters on the market and even comes with self-modulating technology for the best performance possible. For those of you living in the Northern United States, where water temperatures can get pretty chilly, this is the product for you. The heater is able to heat up to 3.5 gallons of water per minute making it great for running two showers at once and never running out of hot water and making the other person take a cold shower. If you have a hot tub, this product is great for using to heat it up. This unit not only works for folks up north, it works great for people living in the southern region of the U.S too. In addition to running hot tubs in the south, this water heater is able to provide warm water for up to six showers all at once! When you want to be able to select the perfect water temperature, the digital temperature gauge allows you to pick the optimal degrees value for you and the people in your household. As far as comparing to other water heaters, this is the granddaddy of them all. While it does require at least 150 amps, it is no doubt the best bet for a family needing enough hot water to be used in a large home. The good news is that all people who bought it appreciate it with 5/5 stars. Check out a great video on this water heater:
EcoSmart ECO 27
If your needs don’t quite measure up to the ECO 36, the ECO 27 is another great product to consider when looking for a hot water heater. With 27KW at 240 volts, it puts out a lot of hot water and runs with ease. Perfect for folks living in the Northern part of the U.S, this water heater has no problem pumping through hot water even when they temperatures are on the cold side. Capable of heating 3 gallons per minutes and running two showers at a time without ever running out of hot water, this product is a great find for anyone. Much like the ECO 36, the ECO 27 can heat a jacuzzi in the southern part of U.S, however it can only heat four showers and a sink at a time as opposed to the 6 continues showers that the ECO 36 can heat without delay. It also comes with digital temperature gauge so finding the perfect setting is a piece of cake. And the best part: it costs far less than the ECO 36.
EcoSmart ECO 24
Next on our list is the ECO 24 24KW at 240 Volts Water Heater. While this product is on the lower side of the spectrum for this review, don’t doubt it for a minute. Much like the previous water heaters, it’s fully capable of heating water that gets as a low at 37 degrees. At 3 gallons of water per minute at 37 degrees, this water heater is powerful and perfect for those that want hot water, but don’t necessarily need lots of power going to their electric water heater. Like the other products, it’s also suitable for heating Jacuzzi tubs in the southern regions of the United States. It also comes with an digital reading indicator so selecting the appropriate temperature is a breeze.
EcoSmart ECO 18
And finally, there’s the Ecosmart ECO 18 Electric Tankless Water Heater, 18KW at 240 Volts of power. This system is aimed at warmer climates that usually have water coming in at the very minimum of 62 degrees. Eco 18 is able to heat water to the desired level at 2.5 gallons per minute. What that basically boils down to is being able to heat enough water of one water saver shower head and one sink when the water temperature is at 62 degrees or higher. If you need two showers operating simultaneously, you are unable of having more than 1.5 gallons of water flowing per minute and no more than one sink when the incoming water source is at or above 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The water heater is equipped with the same digital temperature gauge as the other units that we have reviewed. It is best not to use this water heater in cold climates. However, if you do decide to run this water heater in a cold climate, expect a greater amount of time for water to heat. But when this particular water heater is equipped properly and used in the appropriate climate, it can really perform and help you keep your energy costs down while providing warm water when you need it.
In this review we’ve went over 4 different levels of electric tankless water heaters. While they all give us warm water in a fairly timely fashion, they do have some areas that could certainly use some improvements. For the larger units, they use a good deal of energy and require more to run in order to get the desired amount of hot water. While they do heat a large home with ease, running such a large unit might not be necessary when you don’t need bigger water flows. In that regard, the ECO 18 and 24, provide a great resource if you want hot water but don’t want to spend a great deal on electric bills, when you don’t necessarily have to. The ECO 36 and 27 seem to be the best products for those folks with a large family and a big house. For smaller houses with only 1 or 2 people occupying the space, the ECO 24 and 18 could fit nicely and easily. All these products are certified and highly efficient.
